Earl B. Akin, Jr.
Funeral services for Earl B. Akin, Jr. will be held Friday, September 16, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Mike Boles officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Akin, age 55, of Meridian passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at his home.
He was self-employed in the mobile home business. Most people remember seeing Earl Jr. in his blue souped-up Chevy truck, that he affectionately named “The Blue Mule.” He loved his four legged companions, “Champ and Munchkin.”
He is survived by his children, Casey Akin, Mindy Lynn Akin Berry, and Nathan Akin Berry; wife, Teresa R. Akin; grandchildren, Kelsey Brooke Davidson, Jaeger Cumberland, Huntley Cumberland, and Callie Berry; mother, Dorothy A. Little; father, Earl Bernard Akin, Sr.; brother, Alan Akin (Teresa J.); sisters, Susan Akin Lynch (Brooks) and Lisa K. Akin; nieces and nephews, Alexandria Lee Taylor, Preston Akin Lynch, and Alana Teresa Akin; great-nephew, Gavin Edward and great-niece, Addison Jet; stepsister, Shan Little and stepfather, Harry Little.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Lee Akin; paternal grandparents, Bernard Lee Akin and Nannie Pearl Akin; and maternal grandparents, Rudolph Thomas Parkerson and Barbara Garrett Parkerson.
Pallbearers will be Harry Mayer Jr., Preston Lynch, Brooks Lynch, Nathan Akin, Hunter Cumberland, and Ryan Clifford.
