Earl Wayne Garrett

Funeral services for Mr. Earl Wayne Garrett will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Mike McKee and Rev. Mark Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Earl Wayne Garrett, age 77, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, June 5, 2020.

Wayne was retired from the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country and the U.S. Postal Service.  Wayne loved to hunt, fish, and camp with family and friends. He was a jack of all trades whose use of gorilla glue and duct tape was epic.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Batchelor Garrett; his children Carolyn McKee (Mike) of Cuba AL, DeWayne Garrett  (Holly) of Meridian, and Sandy Kilgore  (Mark) of Newton MS; his grandchildren Tabbitha Williams (Jamie)of Virginia Beach, VA, Ty McKee  (Morgan) of Bogue Chitto, MS, Tanner Garrett (Katie) of Meridian, Cameron Garrett and Keeton Garrett of Meridian, Aaron Kilgore of Rose Hill, MS, Delaney Rayner (Steven) and Ethan Kilgore (Alexus) of Newton MS; six great-grandchildren: Riley Kilgore, Bella McKee, Aylen Williams, Jagger McKee, Declan Williams, and Fletcher McKee;  one great-great-grandson: Dawson Cole Garrett; his siblings: Greg Garrett (Linda) of Brandon, MS, Wanda McKenzie of Clermont,  FL, Debbie McKinney (Gerald) of West Point, MS, Mike Garrett  (Christine) of Meridian, Lynn Smith (Mike) of Meridian,  and Keith Garrett (Sterling) of Marion MS; and numerous  cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Garrett and Elsie Garrett Peterman; and brother Lee Garrett.

Visitation will begin at 10:15 a.m. prior to the funeral service at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.  Due to current state and local restrictions the funeral home is operating at 50% capacity with up to 100 guests indoors at once.  Wearing a mask is required.

The family would like to thank the friends and staff at Hospice Care Group, Quitman, MS.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, in memory of SFC Earl W. Garrett, U.S. Army, Retired.
