Graveside services for Leland Edgar Harper, Sr. will be held Monday November 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Roy Dabbs officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Harper, 77 of Meridian died November 16, 2013 at his residence, and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Meridian. He was tremendously loved and enjoyed the sport of fishing, and was well known for his great fishing stories. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Audrey Harper; two sons Leland E. Harper, Jr. (Alana); Steve E. Harper (Jackie); one daughter, Amy Harper Catlett (Tim); four grandchildren, Paige Harper Taylor (Justin); Brett Harper (Kim); Drew Harper and his fiancé, Julie Little; Brad Harper (Kimberly Duncan); two great grandchildren, Priestly Lamar Taylor and Lilly Kate Harper; one brother, Melvin Harper, and two sisters-in-law; Elizabeth Harper and Celeste Harper. And numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brett Harper, Drew Harper, Brad Harper, Justin Taylor, Ricky Posey, and Tim Catlett. Honorary pallbearers will be the Brotherhood of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by: parents C.W. and Emmie Harper, son Richard Harper and several siblings.
