Funeral services for Edith Gardner will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Gary Bickford and Dwight Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Gardner, age 73, of Meridian passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Rush Hospital.

She was born in Philadelphia. Mrs. Gardner was a member of Agape Fellowship Church. She was in the finance business for over 50 years and was due to retire April 30 from Loans Inc. of Newton, MS. Mrs. Gardner loved life and her family. She will be greatly missed. Her family and Lord were her life.

Survivors include her husband, James Gardner, Sr.; children, Steve Parker, Sr. and wife Rhonda, Mike Parker and wife Karen, George Parker, James Gardner, Jr. and wife Shirley, Jessie Gardner, Randy Gardner and wife Felicia, Ricky Gardner, Angela Gardner; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorene Smith Barrett and J.W. Barrett; siblings, John Barrett, Wayne Barrett, Virginia Chapin.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Gardner, Demarquise Wilson, Danny Smith, Paul Smith, Josh Tyson, Sam Kidd, and Thomas Donald.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014, 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
