Edna Earl Herrington Hatcher Services for Edna Earl Herrington Hatcher will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 at Antioch Southern Methodist Church (Litchfield Life Center). Visitation for the family will begin at 9:30 A.M. with public visitation from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., followed by Funeral and Graveside services. Rev. Rick Pigott, Rev. Damon Williams, and Rev. Wallace Terry will be officiating. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery with ROBERT BARHAM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Hatcher (Big Mama), 94, of the Martin Community, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at R.P. White Nursing Facility. Born March 22, 1920, she was a lifelong resident of the Martin Community. Edna Earl was a basketball standout in high school. In 1937 she married her high school sweetheart, W.M. (Tillie) Hatcher. She was a Mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking for the many friends and family who gathered regularly at her home. A charter member of Antioch Southern Methodist Church, she served as a Sunday school teacher and always helped with Bible School. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, quilting, canning and tending to her flowers. She was an avid supporter of community & school sports, and you would get an ear full if you criticized her Braves, Saints or Bulldogs! Affectionately known as "Big Mama" to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren, she was their biggest supporter and encourager. Survivors include: Sister Loanesse Ethridge (90), Children; Barbara Scarbrough, Danny Hatcher (Sherry), Lesia Sharp (Tim), Stan Hatcher (Susan). Grandchildren (13); Sandy Gardner (Richard), Tim Caldwell (Robbi), Jennifer Ginn, Tracy Ethridge (Ike), Chris Walker (Rick), Cathy Theall (Darrell), David Hatcher (Apryl), Ben Hatcher (Heather), John Knost (Gillian), Andy Knost, Matthew Knost, Scotty Hatcher, Trey Hatcher. Great Grandchildren(18); Brittany Boutwell (Lee), Kristina Gaylord (Michael), Ricky Gardner, Austin Ginn, Emeri Ginn, Kylie Tisdale (Paul), Jessica Alexander (Josh), Landon Ethridge, Davey Walker (Jessica), Luke Walker, Logan Theall (Haley), Grant Theall, Noah Hatcher, Eli Hatcher, Scarlett Hatcher, Wyatt Knost, Lily Knost, and Maddie Hatcher. Great Great Grandchildren (9); Allie Bozeman, McKenzie Bozeman, Kayden Boutwell, Nikki Boutwell, Ashlynn Alexander, Atlie Alexander, Adalee Tisdale, Connor Walker, Caroline Walker Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband W.M. Hatcher, daughter Zola Caldwell, son in laws Charles Caldwell, Rev. Tommy Scarbrough, and Rick McCormick. Her parents Will & Alma Herrington, four brothers and four sisters. The family requests memorials be made to: Antioch Southern Methodist Church Building Fund. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Tim Caldwell, David Hatcher, Ben Hatcher, John Knost, Andy Knost, Matt Knost, Scotty Hatcher, and Trey Hatcher.
