Funeral services for Edsel Ford Thrasher will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Marvin Cooper officiating. Burial will be at Long Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Thrasher, age 69, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at his home. He was the owner of Magnolia Gutter Works Inc. and retired after over 25 years. Edsel loved visiting with family and friends, going to Car Shows, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed helping people. He always put others needs before his own and would help anyone that needed it no matter what. He was a great Dad, brother, uncle, and friend to many, and will be missed and loved deeply by all that knew him. Survivors include his daughters, Alanea Steele, Sharon Winstead and husband, Gary, Dena Thrasher (Kevin Holliday), Talisa Thrasher (Curtis Miller) all of Meridian; son, Jonathan Thrasher and wife, Beth of Union; eight special grandsons, Clint, Cody, Brian (Crissy), AJ (Nina), Brad (Anja), David (Ashley), Michael, and Cameron; four special granddaughters, Heather (Brian), Nikki (Jon), Destinee, and Keirsten; thirteen special great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Thrasher and Melvin Thrasher and wife, Kelly; sisters, Doris Spears and husband, Wendell, Louise Smith, Bobby Faye Thrash, Martha Kay Hopkins, Betty Sue Walton and husband, Bo, Sherry Shanks (Fred Clifton), and Johnney Faye Bradshaw and husband, Dennis; step-mother, Rachel Thrasher; sister-in-law, Maxine Thrasher; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Thrasher; mother, Iva Dean Thrasher; sister, Pauline McLemore; and brothers, Jerome Clark and Mason Ray Thrasher. Pallbearers will be Marcus Quinley, Harold Hollingsworth, Dwayne Massey, Larry Norris, Harold Green, and Damon Couch. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
