He was born March 18, 1938 in Meridian. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He retired as a security guard from Peavey Electronics. He was known for his dry sense of humor, was always lighthearted, rarely serious, and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Nick is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jean Fontan; his daughter, Lorenda Jean Spann (Mark); granddaughter, Amber Spann Wilson (Eddie) of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Kellen Spann; brothers, Donald Fontan and Rickey Fontan (Joy); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark E. Fontan and James Nickey Fontan; his parents, Willie and Elaine Fontan; brother, Ray Fontan; sister, Helen Marie Reynolds, Betty Jeanette Fontan, and Billie Jean Goodman.
