Edward Dean "Diz" York Services for Edward Dean "Diz" York will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Daleville Methodist Church, with Dr. W.D. Pigott and Reverend Vicki Gladding officiating. Burial will be in Dalveville Methodist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. York, 79 of Daleville, died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mr. York retired after 33 years with Norfolk Southern Railroad. He served 10 years in the United States Air Force and Army. He was member of Daleville Methodist Church. He was a charter member of the Okatibbee Yacht Club, where he served as Commodore. He and Jean were avid square dancers and enjoyed spending time dancing with friends. Survivors: include his wife of 56 years, Jean Martin York of Daleville; son, Eddie Mueller York and wife Gabbie of Kelkhein, Germany; daughter, Tamela Ellen Perry and husband Colin of Bay Minette, Alabama; son, Robert Wayne York and wife Melanie of Toomsuba; daughter, Dina Jean Fausto and husband Abraham of Temecula, California; 14 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren; sister, Glenda Ruth Harper; sister, Sherry Papisan and husband Jeff; special family, Jerry Smith and wife Shelia, Richard Larimore and Pamela K. Stokes and husband Jerry and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruby Johnson-Smith; daughter, Dawn Janise York; sisters, Jean Leigh McLennan and Carla Johnson. Pallbearers will be Brandon York, Michael York, Allen Dierig, Christopher Fausto, Jonathan Fausto, Zachary Fauston, Matthew Fausto, Chris Douglas, Kindal Douglas, Bill Rawls and Richard Bailey.
