Graveside Services for Mrs. Effie Parker Flaherty will be held Saturday July 30, 2011 at 10 am at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bonita, with Rev. Paul McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery Bonita, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A funeral service was held on Wednesday July 27, 2011 at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Evelyn Lemons officiating, at Hampton Funeral Home in Boone, NC. Mrs. Effie Parker Flaherty, 84, of Boone, NC, died Tuesday July 26, 2011, in Boone, NC. She was born July 12, 1927 in Jones County, MS. She was a retired bookkeeper for a real estate firm. She was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church in Boone, NC. Survivors include a son Henry Parker of San Diego, CA and a sister Bobbie Tester and husband J.C. of Boone, NC. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents Eddie and Maude Denham Pearson. Her first husband, Clayton Parker and her second husband, Erwin Flaherty. The family requests memorials be made to the Deerfield United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1184 Deerfield Road, Boone, NC 28607, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
