Eleanor Lane McEntyre Graveside services for Eleanor Lane McEntyre will be held Friday, August 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Mississippi Veterans Cemetery in Newton, MS, with Reverend Kenneth Owen officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. McEntyre, age 86, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Eleanor, a Methodist, was a devoted wife and mother. She was passionate about her occupations of retail shop owner, real estate agent, and bank secretary. She loved to shop and go on beach vacations. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Freeman (Bill) of Newton; son, Kem McEntyre (Robin) of Meridian; granddaughter, Molly McEntyre of Meridian; two step-grandchildren, Tre' Freeman (Jan) of Meridian and Dana Habig (Brian) of Greenville, South Carolina; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Susan Galloway (DeWitt) of Apalachicola, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McEntyre and sisters, Magdelin Redding and Sybil Taylor. The family would like to express many thanks to their special friend, J.B. Bryant, and to the staff and residents of Aldersgate.
