Graveside services for Mrs. Elinor M. Quick will begin at 12:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2024, at Magnolia Cemetery with the Reverend Steve Owen officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Quick, 94, of Meridian, died Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Beehive Homes of Marion, MS.

She was born in Meridian, MS on May 17, 1929.  She was the wife of a Marine, and she moved to numerous military bases as she raised her family.  Elinor had a career as a Civil Service employee.  She worked at the Polaris Missile Base and the Naval Weapons Station in Charleston, SC.  She came home to Meridian as comptroller at NTTC, NAS Meridian.  She was the highest-ranked female civil service employee at NAS.  She was active as a member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator.  At retirement, she became a Master Gardener and enjoyed walking.  She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much.

Elinor is survived by her children, Jim Quick (Diane), Beth Wuestefeld (Wayne), and Tim Quick, all of Meridian, MS; a sister, Virginia Porter of Sugar Land, TX; grandchildren, Nikki Schoel (Robert) of  Birmingham, AL, Joey Quick of Irving, TX, Ann Claire Wuestefeld of New York City, NY, and Elizabeth Wuestefeld of Charleston, SC; step-grandchildren, Wendy Montgomery of Thomasville, GA, and Dabney Wuestefeld (Tonya) of Pelahatchie, MS; great-granddaughter, Ellie Schoel; and step-great-grandchildren, Mary Landon Montgomery, Emily Montgomery, Reid Wuestefeld (Savannah), Trent Wuestefeld, Lawson Wuestefeld; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Quick; parents, Zelma and Norris McClure, Sr.; siblings, Josephine Little, Pauline McClure, and Norris McClure, Jr.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Beehive Homes, nurses and staff at Accent Care, and Brown Family Sitting Services, Rita Darden, and Shirley Patton.

The family suggests memorials be made as donations to the Episcopal Church of the Mediator or to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Meridian.

The Quick Family will receive guests on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
