With hearts both broken and grateful for a life so beautifully lived, we honor and remember Elisa Truelove Torrance daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who crossed her path.
Born August 30, 1961, in Meridian, Mississippi, to Billy Wayne and Virginia June Truelove, Elisa entered this world with a light that would never dim. On April 13, 2026, in Niceville, Florida, that light was called home…returning to the Lord she loved so deeply and served so faithfully.
Elisa was a woman of boundless love and uncommon grace. A graduate of Northeast High School, she continued her journey at Meridian Community College, where her voice joined the choir, Variations, an early glimpse of the joy and spirit she carried within her. In her younger years, she was a cyclist and participated in “Bike Across Mississippi” multiple times, an achievement she was very proud of.
She made her life’s work in cosmetology, but her true calling was far greater: she was a healer of hearts, a giver of kindness, and a soul who saw beauty in every person. Elisa never met a stranger…only friends she had not yet embraced. Her generosity knew no limits; her compassion was a steady river that touched countless lives. To know her was to feel seen, loved, and uplifted.
She found joy in the simple and the eternal. She collected treasures of the past through antiques, losing herself in the pages of fantasy novels, the love of live music, and forever in awe of the beach and the ocean’s horizon. But above all, her greatest joy was her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her heart’s delight, her living legacy, her answered prayers.
Elisa is survived by her beloved sister, Mistei Roebuck (Julian); her children, Ashley Torrance (Gyasi Heus) and Raymond L. Torrance III “Traye”; her cherished granddaughters, Karolina, Juliette, Isabella, Olivia, Estella, and Alexandria; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Emmy and Weston. She also leaves behind her precious cousin Sonja Reinhardt who was the honorary 4th sister in her family, her nephews, Spencer and Daniel; her niece, Summer; along with a wide circle of family and friends who were blessed by her love.
Elisa is preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Angelea Joy; and her husband, Raymond L. Torrance Jr.
A woman of deep faith, Elisa walked closely with the Lord, giving of herself freely and without hesitation. She lived as a reflection of His love-selfless, radiant, and enduring. Though she has been called from this earthly home, her spirit remains a quiet strength in the wind, a warmth in the hearts she touched, a song that will never fade.
Her life was not measured in years, but in love given, kindness shared, and lives forever changed.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
She is home.
