Elsie Louise Logan Graveside services for Elsie Louise Logan will be held Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11:30 at Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Edwards officiating and Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Ms. Logan passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Ms. Logan was born June 3, 1926 in Meridian, MS. She attended Meridian Public Schools, was a graduate of Meridian Junior College with Honors and served as president of her class. She also attended Millsaps College and American University. As a member of Hawkins Memorial United Methodist Church, she served on the Administrative Board and taught an adult Sunday School Class. For six years she served as President of the Meridian District United Methodist Church Wesleyan Service Guild. While living in Washington D C, MS Logan worked as an executive secretary in the office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Upon returning to Meridian, she worked a number of years for the J. C. Wilbourn law firm. In 1965 Ms. Logan began employment with J. C. Bradford & Co., members of the New York Stock Exchange. She completed a two year course with the New York Institute of Finance in 1967 and qualified as the first woman in Mississippi registered with a member firm of the New York Stock Exchange. When she retired in 1988 she was a first Vice President-Investments with the firm. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Robert Bruce Logan and Louise Fortenberry Logan and by her brother, Robert Olando Logan. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Marjorie B. Logan, nieces, Robin, Kim, a nephew, Keith and several very close and dear friends, Bunnie Tisdale, Kenneth and Bonnie Jones, Gayle Malone and Windell Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity, Alldersgate Chapel Fund or Hawkins Memorial United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be, Charles W. Wright, Jr., Scott Hudson, Paul Tisdale, Mac Emmons, Windell Johnson, Kenneth Jones and Joe Middlebrook. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. John C. Clay, Sybil Kamper, Dalma Grisson, Katherine Wilhite and Marion Wilhite. Visitation will be held Monday 10 11 at the funeral home.
