Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Pauline Pope will be held Monday, June 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Corey Fontan officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held an hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pope, age 88, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at her home.

Mrs. Pope was a homemaker, and she loved working in her yard beside her husband James.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Nicholson and her husband, Kary, of Chunky, Linda Webb and her husband, Gower, and Lisa Johnson and her husband, Mike, all of Meridian; grandchildren, Emily Thompson and husband, Travis, Ashley Massey and her husband, Chris, Mandy Hopkins and her husband, Josh, all of Chunky, Kimberly Fontan and her husband, Corey, James Johnson and his wife, Traci, and Brittany Johnson, all of Meridian; 14 great-grandchildren, brother, Ralph Dale Eakes, sister-in-law, Anna Mae Eakes, brother-in-law, Herman Savell, and her and her husband's beloved dog, Coco.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Pope, her parents, Walter and Evie Eakes, brothers; J.W. Eakes, Wayne Eakes, Ray Eakes, Irvin Eakes and Daniel Eakes, sisters; Helen Smith, Irene Lenoir and Marie Savell.

Pallbearers will be James Johnson, Travis Thompson, Chris Massey, and Josh Hopkins.
