Emma Elizabeth Reeves Services for Emma Elizabeth Reeves will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church, with Dr. John Temple and Reverend Jack Kern officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Reeves, 90, was born to the late John and Ada Mae Pennington Jones in Decatur, Mississippi on June 4, 1924. She died at home with friends and family on the afternoon of September 4, 2014, after battling cancer for over a year. She lived most of her life in McComb, Mississippi where she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She moved to Meridian in 2002, and became an active member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church and continued her activities in the Eastern Star. She is survived by her sister, Johnnie Mae Keith of Decatur; her children, Ron (Linda) Barham and their sons, Bryan (Ricki) Barham and Ben (Heather) Barham of Meridian, Jack (Catherine) Barham and daughter, Lucinda (Lynn) Phillips of Thomaston, Georgia, Kathy (Chuck) Alford of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Sharron (James) Sciple of Selmer, Tennessee and her children Sheri (James) Garrett of Columbiana, Alabama and Greg (Melissa) Smith of Olive Branch, her step-children, Martha (Sonny) Eure, Rita (John) Curry, Mary (Charles) Price, and Joe (Nellie) Reeves, Jr., and her twenty-two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their appreciation to her special caregivers Frankie Breckenridge Davis and daughter, Robin, Betty and Jack Davis and the care of Hospice Compassus. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Rubin Barham, William Netterville, and Joe Reeves, Sr. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be he her grandsons and great-grandsons.
