Erica Wilcox Gressett

A visitation for Mrs. Erica Wilcox Gressett will be Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. A Private Graveside Service will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Ms. Erica Wilcox Gressett, age 55, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 27th at her home in Lexington, Tennessee.

Erica was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina, spent most of her childhood in Meridian, and graduated from Meridian High School in 1988. Erica took pride in staying home to raise her kids in Meridian. More recently, she’s lived in Lexington, Tennessee for nearly ten years with her longtime partner, Jeff.

Erica lived her life with perseverance, joy, and faith. She was born with Cerebral Palsy, and struggled with physical pain for most of her life. She found recovery in adulthood and dedicated a few years of her life to helping others find the same through Oxford House in Jackson, MS. She was passionate about encouraging others who were also struggling and helping when and how she could.

Despite her pain, Erica was the laughter of the party. She had the biggest, beautiful smile. Her children -along with many friends and family- remember her goofiness and corny jokes. They cherish her laughter and love. She was so proud of each of them, and she loved being MeMe to her grandchildren.

As her mobility was limited, she found great joy connecting with friends, family, and church over Facebook. She shared much about her faith in Jesus and held fast to His promise of Heaven where pain is no more. She joined Northcrest Baptist Church in the early 90’s. Even though she lived in Tennessee for the past several years, Erica tuned in online most Sundays and has always loved this church.

She loved gardening and enthusiastically enjoyed a wide array of music. She had a passion for sharing her favorite blooms, songs, and memories with her loved ones.

Erica is survived by her daughters, Taylor Orr (James), Savannah Gressett; son, Mitchell Gressett (Reagan); grandchildren, Hazel Orr, Emmett Orr, and Emerson Gressett; Father, Paul Wilcox (Judy); sister, Paige Banks; partner, Jeff Fehland; and pets, Shiloh and Luna. She is also survived by her former spouse, Dane Gressett, the father of her children.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Blake; maternal grandparents, Audie Nell Campbell and Shannon Paige Campbell; and paternal grandmother, Julie Wilcox.

The family requests memorials be made to Northcrest Baptist Church.
