Erma B. Severance
Erma B. Severance, 85, died at her home in Aldersgate Retirement Community on Friday, December 4, 2015.
Born in Jasper County, Mississippi, to Henry Floyd and Nona Mae Bishop Ulmer, she lived in Meridian for over fifty years. Erma was quick to smile and enjoyed socializing with friends and family. She held various secretarial positions in her work life, most notably at agencies for The Equitable Life Assurance Society and Lauderdale County Health Department.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her son, Winton Harold Beaver, Jr.
Erma is survived by her sister, Bobbie Jean Moulds (Robert), Newton; daughters, Susie Beaver Smith (Lee Andrews) and Brenda A. Dixon, Tuscaloosa, Alabama; grandchildren, Marcia Smith (James), Salt Lake City, Utah; J. Elizabeth Smith (David Potes), Oakland, California; Roger Dixon (Sandy), Tuscaloosa; Roman Dixon (Ashley), McCalla, Alabama; Margaret Hobson Coleman (Christopher) and Win Beaver, Meridian; three nieces and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 10, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
The family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Rose Hill, Mississippi; Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation; Alzheimer’s Association or other deserving charity.
