Ethel Mae Reeder "Jean" Wright

A graveside service for Ethel Mae Reeder Wright will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Magnolia Cemetery with the Reverend Morris K. Thompson III officiating.

Ethel Jean Wright was born on December 20, 1924.  Raised by her grandmother and her Aunt Dora, Jean married a Naval Officer named Robert Wright on April 7, 1942.  Jean and Bob embarked on a life of adventure living in Texas, Alaska, New Jersey, California, Florida, finally settling in Meridian, Mississippi where they retired and raised their son Daniel.

Jean wore many hats.  She was a ranch hand on her own farm and attended a class at Mississippi State to aid in the reproduction of her cattle.  She taught water skiing lessons, was a gourmet cook, loved college football, was an excellent poker player, and worked the stock market like a Wall Street pro.

Meridian has been Jean's home since 1961.  In Meridian, she and her husband Bob built a beautiful life filled with friends who love them like family.  She leaves behind her son Dan, his wife Cheri, two granddaughters Lauren and Dana, and three great grandchildren Aidan, Lillian, and Rowan.
