Evelyn Newell Null Bounds
Graveside services for Evelyn Bounds will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Evelyn, age 93, of Meridian went to Glory peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2016 at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Evelyn, affectionately known by many as “Little Egypt”, had a zest for life and experienced it to its fullest. Her style was always elegant and fashionable. She took great pride in entertaining others and making everyone feel comfortable. She was passionate about the arts and supported the Meridian Little Theatre and Meridian Symphony and was a member of the Rose Garden Club and the Eastern Star. She was a lifelong member of Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Tommy Null, George Null, Kathy Null, and Joe Nicholson; grandchildren, Tom Null, Katherine Montgomery, George Null Jr., Jonathan Null, and Clay Null; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Ralph Newell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years, T.C. Null; second husband, Colonel James Bounds; granddaughter, Stacy Null; parents, James E. Newell and Charlotte A. Newell; and siblings, Blanche White, Hazel Newell, Mary Ann Pope, James E. Newell, Ray Newell, Joe Sam Newell, Rudy Newell, Harold Newell, and LeRoy Newell.
The family would like to express their love and appreciation to caregivers, Joycelyn Raine and Peggy Harris for their devoted care for Evelyn.
