Graveside services for Mrs. Evelyn C. Wood will be rendered at 11:30 am Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jack Kern and Rev. Kyle Naylor officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Wood, 91, of Meridian, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Specialty Hospital of Meridian.

Mrs. Wood and her late husband, Rev. Tom Wood, were founders of the Wood-Harris Insurance Company in 1978, where she became known as “The Insurance Lady.” She worked until the age of 80. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandy, and friend. She loved all pets and children alike. She was devoted to her family and church and will be remembered as the world’s most wonderful mother.

Mrs. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Pam Wood Harris (Butch), Son, Joe Wood (Tanya); Granddaughter, Holley Harris. One sister, Clarice Ricks, as well as a host of extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Rev. Tom Wood, as well as two brother and seven sisters.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Marion in lieu of flowers.
