Everett H. Brooks Services for Everett H. Brooks will be held Friday, November 30, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Allan Singletary officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Brooks, 90, of Meridian died Monday, November 26, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. He was retired from A. J. Lyon Wholesale Grocery and the Commissary at the Navy Base. Mr. Brooks was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. He loved life and was an avid gardener and fisherman. Mr. Brooks was a long time member of Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his two daughters Hilma Snell and husband Jerry of Blackwater, Mississippi and Aline Barfoot and husband Paul of Pike Road, Alabama; five grandchildren David Snell, Eric Snell (Karen), Mark Snell (Renee'), Janet Turnure (Doug) and Sheila Sieving (Quad); nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years Grace Moore Brooks. The family requests memorials be made to Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers will be Paul Barfoot, Jerry Snell, David Snell, Mark Snell, Oliver Moore, and Art Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Quad Sieving, Eric Snell, James Brooks and John McClure.
