Funeral services for Mr. Everett Hudson Crudup, III  will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the chapel of Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Father Augustine Palimattam officiating. A private burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

Everett Hudson Crudup, III, 64, passed away in Meridian, MS, on April 7, 2023, after a long illness. He was born in Meridian, on February 16, 1959.

As the son of a Naval officer, Everett's early years were spent in Mississippi, Rhode Island, Georgia, Virginia, and Stuttgart, Germany. When his father retired from military service in 1970, his family returned to Meridian. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1976. He enjoyed playing football at Lamar, and he was proud to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon at Mississippi State University, and he graduated from Millsaps College with a degree in accounting.

A "road warrior" in the furniture business, he was a million-dollar salesperson for the family-owned Meridian Mattress Factory, representing BEMCO mattresses and other furniture brands. In later life, he owned "East Meets West", a furniture and accessories store in Louisville, KY. He traveled extensively, and loved collecting artwork, specializing in Asian art. After retirement, he returned to Meridian, where he was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church. He enjoyed listening to blues and other kinds of music, watching Saints football on television, and eating out.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara (Bobbi) Smith Crudup of Meridian; his son, Everett Hudson Crudup, IV, of Lakeport, CA; his grandson, Camden Charles Crudup, of Navarre, FL; his former wife, Cynthia Roberson Crudup of Pensacola, FL; his sister, Lauren Crudup Ero, of Columbia, MD; his nephew Cameron Everett Ero, of Santa Clara, CA; his niece, Victoria Ann Ero, of Los Angeles, CA; his aunt, Jacqueline Sartin Crudup, of Meridian; and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Everett Hudson Crudup, Jr; grandparents Everett Hudson Crudup, Sr and Augusta Covington Crudup of Meridian; and Robert Furman Smith, DDS and Eugenia Eley Smith of Biloxi, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church 2601 Davis St., Meridian, MS 39301.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, April 13, 2023, and 12-12:45 PM on Friday, April 14, 2023, prior to the funeral service.
