Funeral services for Jack Jackson will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Dr. Raymon Leake, Reverend David Bishop and Reverend Wayne Polk officiating. Burial will follow at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton County.

F R “Jack” Jackson went to be with the Lord at 6:20pm on Sunday night, October 16, 2016. He was 83 years old.

Jack served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and spent one year in Korea. He retired from NAS weather bureau. Jack loved the Lord above all things. His love for his wife and family was only surpassed by his love for Jesus. He was a dedicated deacon and servant of the Lord at First Baptist Church, Meridian.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Betty Rainer Jackson; three children, Glenn Jackson (Susan), Cheryl Jackson Gressett (Steve) and Shannon Jackson Yates (Tommy); six wonderful grandchildren, Emily Gressett Huggins, Craig Jackson (Laine), Nathan Gressett, Drew Jackson (Sarah), T J Yates (Casey) and Madison Yates; four great-grandchildren, Cooper Huggins, Mallory and Owen Jackson, and Lyla Yates; one sister, Judy Rush Beckham, and one brother, David Rush (Erma) and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends, Wilmer Munn and Jimmy Crane.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Rush and stepfather, Dovie Rush.

Pallbearers will be his six grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church Meridian and members of Glenn Dewease Memorial Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 18 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
