Faye Roberts Houston

Funeral services for Faye Houston will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Collinsville, with Rev. Wade Ricks, Rev. Hal Bates, Dr. David Sellers, and Rev. Paul Sizemore officiating. Burial to follow be at First Baptist Church of Collinsville Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Faye Houston, age 80, of Collinsville, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020, at her home.

The people who were blessed enough to be a part of Faye’s life know that she had three great loves – God, her family/friends, and her church. Faye began her walk with God when she accepted him as her Lord and Savior as a child. She was strong in her faith through good times and sad times throughout her life. She kept her faith through these last months of sickness until the last day of her life on earth. Faye also loved her family and friends with all her heart. She enjoyed 61 years of marriage to her high school sweetheart to whom she was totally devoted. She was also dedicated to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She prayed for them daily, and she was a shining example of a Godly woman for them. Faye was also devoted to a large number of friends. Many people were blessed to call her a friend. Faye also was completely devoted to her third love – her church. She spent her entire life serving God in her church. She sang in the adult choir for over 40 years and directed the children’s choir for over 30 years. She had a tremendous impact on the lives of hundred of children through this ministry. She also influenced many young adults through teaching Sunday School. She taught the Young Adults 3 Sunday School class for over 30 years and loved each member dearly. Her legacy will live on through the many lives that she influenced. She will be missed and remembered by countless people.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years Dan Houston; daughters, Jill Williams (Joe) and Dana Keely (Randy); grandchildren, Matt Williams (Rachelle), Haley Hedrick (Blake), Charity Jones (Joel), and Chase Keely; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Aaron and Josiah Williams, Olivia Hedrick, Taylor Clark, Kealey, Mackenzie, Scott, Cale, Brynlee, and Weston Jones; great-great-grandchildren, Jase Pearce; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lozie and Irvin Roberts; siblings, Tate Roberts, Delphy Cross and Shirley Smith; and one grandson, Chance Keely.

Pallbearers will be Matt Williams, Blake Hedrick, Chase Keely, Joel Jones, Ronny Roberts and Danny Luke.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jordan, Aaron, and Josiah Williams, Scott, Cale, and Weston Jones and Members of the Young Adult Three Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2020, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Collinsville. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2020, one hour prior to funeral service.
