Frances Marshall Christian Services for Frances Marshall Christian will be held Monday, August 1, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Mark Flynn officiating. A private burial will be held at Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Christian, 87, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at The Woodlands at Furman in Greenville, South Carolina. She was born on March 10, 1924, in Meridian, Mississippi to Charles Sims and Anne Hall Marshall. Mrs. Christian was a founding member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and was a past President of the Women of the Church. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of The Colonial Dames of America and a member of the Meridian Junior Auxiliary and served as Mardi Gras Queen. Mrs. Christian was a graduate of Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina She was loved by friends and family and will be greatly missed by her daughters Anne Christian Limbird and her husband Jon of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, Amelie Christian Weems and her husband John of Greenville, South Carolina; daughter-in-law Frances Harsh Christian of Madison, Mississippi, grandchildren Lauren Limbird, Jonathan Limbird, Beth Christian Groves, Charlie Christian, Russ Weems, Anne Weems and Hallie Weems; and her sister Anne Marshall Giles of Signal Mountain, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles David Christian III and their son The Reverend Dr. Charles David Christian IV. The family would like to thank the staff of The Woodlands at Furman and Interim Hospice for all of their love and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
