Private Graveside services for Mrs. Frances Coleene Vincent will be Friday, May 29, 2020 at Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend James Gordon officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Vincent, 93, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at John C. Stennis Memorial Hospital in DeKalb.
Mrs. Coleene was a faithful member of Cathedral Assembly of God church of Meridian where she served as a greeter; her joyful spirit was loved by all she met, and she never met a stranger. Following her retirement, she and her friends formed the “Coffee Girls Club” where she and four other friends would spend time in fellowship, over coffee, every Tuesday. The “Coffee Girls Club” met for over 46 years. Her favorite roll was as a loving mamaw, and she loved and adored each of her family members.
Mrs. Vincent is survived by her children, Teri Purvis (Edwin), Tony Vincent (Linda), and Tommy Vincent (Linda). Grandchildren, Michael Purvis (Ann Carol), Scott Vincent (Lesley), Todd Purvis (Stacy), Stephanie Kelleher (Adrian), John Vincent (Becky), Karen Bush (Doug), and Steven Purvis (Stephanie); Seventeen great-grandchildren; and One great-great-grandson. One sister, Barbara Ann Giles, of Throsby, AL; a special friend, Helen Dawkins, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Coleene is preceded in death by her husband, T.C. Vincent; parents, Roy and Cleo Alsup; brother, Kenny Alsup; sister, Oredith Anderson; and daughter-in-law, Sherra Tingle Vincent.
The family suggests memorials be made as donations to The Gideon’s International in lieu of flowers.
