Funeral services for Frances Jones Holloway will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Frances Holloway of Meridian passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, on her 87th birthday. She will be missed by many people.

Frances was a strong spirited woman though most people knew her for her sweet and kind nature. She took pleasure in doing for others whether it was for family or friends. She taught math at Northeast High School for many years. She went above and beyond for her students and willingly took on any task her husband, the principal, asked of her. Her presence there was more than a teacher; she was a role model, trusted colleague, and a faithful wife. At her church, First Baptist Marion, she volunteered as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the WMU. She spent part of her free time sewing and crafting, most of which she gifted to others. Her gentleness and strong presence will be missed by her family and those who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons Clifford “Scooter” Holloway, Jr., and Larry “Skip” Holloway and his wife Debbie; her grandchildren: Augusta Holloway, Clifford Holloway, III, and wife Erika, Eli Holloway, Joey Holloway and wife Vanna, Josh Holloway and wife Cortney, James “Skeeter” Dial and wife Ashley, Brandy Rogers, and Jonathan Thrasher and wife Beth; her special sister Evelyn Gates; nine great-grandchildren; four nieces, and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Clara Johnson Miller, her father Clifton Jones and husband Clifford “Jack” Holloway, Sr.

Pallbearers will be James “Skeeter” Dial, Joey Holloway, Josh Holloway, Jonathan Thrasher, Clifford Holloway, III, and Billy Holloway. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Holloway, Jeff Holloway and Eli Holloway.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
