Frank Leavell Cross Graveside services for Frank Leavell Cross will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:00 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with Reverend Gary Lane Pickard officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Cross, 83, of Meridian, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at Rush Hospital. He was an Army Veteran with the Fifth Armored division and served in Korea as a member of a medical company attached to the 27th Infantry regiment. Mr. Cross received a Bronze Star. He was owner and operator of Jack's Sandwich Shop for 37 years. Mr. Cross was a member of the Hamasa Shrine. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Rush Hospital ICU for the special care given to Mr. Cross. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Fredna Cross of Meridian; son, T.J. Cross and his wife Phoenix of Powder Springs, GA; grandchildren, Erin Donaldson and Cierra Blackman; sisters, Lucille Gibson and her husband Bobby of Meridian, Nellie Catlett of Meridian, Elois Pickard and her husband Johnny of Grove Hill, AL; brother, Glenn Cross and his wife Sarah of Meridian; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Frankie Cross, Jr.; and his parents, Mary Sue and Doc Cross. The family request memorials be made to Area Five Special Olympics. Pallbearers will be Steve Holcombe, Jerry Holcombe, Brad Abbey, Tim Boutwell, Gerald Cross, Donald Belvin, and Jeffery Carver. Honorary pallbearers are Bodka Valley Hunting Club.
