Francis Arlington Gullette (April 27, 1922 - April 15, 2011) was born in Meridian, MS to Willie Lee Watkins Gullette and James Lee Gullette. Frank grew up in Meridian and graduated from Meridian High School in 1942. That fall, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as an Aviation Metalsmith during WWII. Following the war he met and married Marian Keene, April 21, 1947. They raised their family in Meridian where Frank owned and operated Frank's Automatic Transmission Service until his retirement. After he retired, he traveled to Yellowstone National Park where he worked a few more summers. He loved the cool mountain air that Wyoming and Montana offered from the hot Mississippi summers and made seasonal trips there until his wife retired from the Yellowstone National Park in 1996. Some of Frank's past times were growing a large vegetable garden every year and an array of beautiful flowers. He enjoyed woodworking but his favorite thing was the trips he made to the "Nob Hill" fishing camp he shared with his brothers, James and Herbert on the Tombigbee River. Frank loved his church and the men in his Sunday school class at Calvary Baptist church where he was a faithful member. He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Marian K. Gullette, Daughters; Paula Gullette Grayson and her husband Larry of Dalewood, Melinda Gullette Causey Simmons and her husband Dick of Meridian, May Gullette Hall and her husband Clyde of Brandon, Beth Gullette Lamb and her husband Melvin of Mount Pleasant, SC; Grandchildren, Scott Causey of Meridian, Brad Grayson and his wife Rhonda of Dalewood, Charlotte Love, Daniel Love and his wife Nicole, all of Pearl, MS, Valerie Ainsworth and her husband Michael of Richland, MS, Tara Lamb, Holly Jennings, Lori Beth Lamb, Gabrielle Lamb and Trey Lamb all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; 13 Great Grandchildren; Sister in laws, Vondell Gullette and Marolyn Gullette Davison both of Meridian; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons Steven Arlen Gullette and Richard Earl Gullette; Brothers James Gullette and Herbert Gullette; his Mother Willie Lee Gullette Mitchell; his Father James Lee Gullette and his step father Robert (Bob) Mitchell; nephews Michael Gullette and Gary Gullette.
