Fred Henry Mendius, Jr. Memorial services for Fred Henry Mendius, Jr. will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Mr. Mendius, 75, of Meridian, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014, at Anderson's Regional Medical Center. As a youngster, Fred was active in the Civil Air Patrol, and was a graduate of Southwestern University in Memphis. Mr. Mendius served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He retired from Fairbanks Scales, where he worked for over 40 years. Fred was also an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors include his wife, Deborah A. Mendius of Memphis, Tennessee; son, Fred Mendius III and his wife, Renee, of Southaven, MS; daughter, Lynne Fitzgerald of Munford, Tennessee; grandchildren, Chase and Abigail Mendius and Brennen and Cameron Fitzgerald; stepdaughter, Angela Taylor of Memphis, Tennessee; step-grandchildren, Jeremy and Joshua Henderson; brother, Rick Mendius of Collierville, Tennessee; nephews, Troy Mendius of Kalispell, Montana and Layne Mendius of Moscow, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Henry Mendius, Sr. and Shirley W. Arnold. The family requests memorial be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
