Funeral services for Mrs. Fredna McCormick will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Hutchinson officiating. Robert Barham Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Fredna McCormick, age 97, of Brandon, MS, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at her home.

Fredna was born in Meridian, MS. After moving around she settled in Brandon, MS where she spent the bulk of her life. She was a devout Christian and loved attending church. She enjoyed the fellowship and company of her friends through church activities. Fredna also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She worked in the sales industry, selling jewelry and shoes, and she was always willing to help her customers. Fredna loved people and never met a stranger. If you had time to listen, she had time to talk.

Her grandsons remember her as the grandmother who let them bend the rules a little bit.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe McCormick, her parents; Fred and Florene Irby, sister; Winnifred "Winnie" May, brother; Norbert Irby, and son-in-law Raymond Abney.

She is survived by daughters; Donna Roddie (David), and Gloria Abney, grandchildren; Joe Roddie (Amy), Quentin Roddie, and Sean Abney, great grandchildren; Danielle Blount (Tyler), Chloe Wilkinson (Ethan), and Allie Richardson (Bryce), great-great grandchildren; Aurora Grace Blount and Madelyn Wilkinson, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Center.
