Gary B. Smith Services for Gary B. Smith will be held, Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Smith, 75, of Meridian died Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Infinity Hospice. He was retired from WTOK T.V. and WOKK Radio in broadcasting followed by a career in automotive sales. He was a past member of Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church and Bonita United Methodist Church. Mr. Smith, an avid dog lover, was a successful outdoorsman, hunter and competitive skeet and trap shooter. He won many awards on the state level and world championships for skeet shooting. His passion was teaching others the love of competitive shooting. He also enjoyed many years as a baseball coach with the Dizzy Dean Youth Program. Mr. Smith was a member of the Air National Guard in Meridian and Jackson. Survivors include his two daughters Vickie Graves and her husband Bob of Madison, and Deana Spangler and her husband Brian of Collierville, Tennessee; brother Alvis E. Smith and wife Bernice of Meridian; four grandsons Brooks and Blake Graves of Madison and Joshua and Zachary Spangler of Collierville. He was preceded in death by his parents Dewitt and Lessie Smith, and brother Dick Smith. The family requests memorials be made to Camp Binachi Shooting Range.
