Services for Gaynell Stewart Allen Barber will be held Saturday June 12, 2010 at 10 am, at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev Todd Tilgham officiating. Burial will be in Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home on charge of arrangements. Mrs Barber, 89, of Meridian, died June 9, 2010 at Anderson Hospital. She was retired foster grandparent, sitter and nurses aid at Matty Hersee Hospital. Survivors include her former husband J.C. "Shorty Allen" son James Craig Allen, Jr of Tupelo Daughters Sandra Allen Hodgins and husband Gary of Meridian, Vickie Barber Martin and husband Ray of Meridian Grandchildren Kim Hodgins Waddell, Jason Hodgins and Drew Martin all of Meridian, Jessica Allen Roberson and Jennifer Allen of Austin, TX Jacquelyn Allen of Starkville, MS, Andrea Martin Luster and husband David of West Columbia, TX Great Grandchildren Jordan Hodgins, Joshua and Jared Waddell of Meridian, Bailey Kennedy and Kaitlin Roberson of Austin, TX, Dalton Hodgins of Mansfield, TX, Branton Martin of Sumrall, MS, and Atley Ray Luster of West Columbia, TX She was preceded in death by her husband James Victor Barber, Parents John Sharp Stewart and Eula Jay Davidson Stewart, sisters Ruby Moore, Hazel Timbrell and Jenny Williamson, brothers John and Norman Stewart. The family requests memorial be made to Goodwater Baptist Church, 5010 Meeha-Savoy rd South, Enterprise, MS 39330 Visitation will be Friday 5 - 7pm at the funeral home. She was a charter member of Oakland Heights UMC. Known for the wonderful pies and cakes she made ave to those she loved, always followed the recipes to the letter. Pallbearers will be Ray Martin, Lee Martin, Gary Hodgins, Tommy sides, Jason Hodgins, Drew Martin, and David Luster.
