George “Bubba” Hampton

Funeral services for George “Bubba” Hampton will be held at 11 o’clock on September 13, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church of Meridian.  Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

A Meridian banker and community leader, Bubba passed away on September 10, 2019 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Bubba is survived by his loving wife and life partner, Sandy; and two sons, Steve and Jason; a daughter-in-law, Pam, Steve’s wife; a granddaughter, Hannah; a son-in-law, Trey Cooper and his wife Brandie and two grandsons, Zager and Ayden Cooper.  Bubba is also survived by his brother, Ronny Hampton, and wife Rhonda, as well as a nephew, Brad.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Pall bearers will be Kelly Swain, Joe Griffin, Jerry Murphy, Richard Armstrong, Dr. Keith Everett, Richard Weaver, Scott Morgan, Earl Aycock, Trey Cooper, Tony Pompelia, Mac Haik, Fred Corley, D.D. Lewis, and Bill Freeman.

Honorary pall bearers are members of the 1964, 1965, and 1966 Mississippi State football teams, members of the 1961 and 1962 Meridian Wildcat football team, the Northwood Country Club Golf Group, and members of the Second Chance Band.

Burial will be held privately for the family.
