George L "Sonny" Powe, Iii

Graveside services for Mr. George L. “Sonny” Powe, III will begin at 2:30 PM Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Gum Log Cemetery with Bro. Ben Jones and Mr. Tommy Ainsworth officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Powe, 59, of Lauderdale, died Thursday, November 14, 2024, at his home.

Sonny enjoyed helping people any chance he could. He was a gunsmith and enjoyed rebuilding guns in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie Powe; his sister, Georgie Powe; his sisters-in-law, Joy Milligan and April Smith; his nephew, Sean Pace (Courtney); his nieces, Shelby Ozmett, Kayla Powe, and  Sarah Sheperd; his Aunt, Shine Pogue (Gerald); special cousins, Jamie Ainsworth (Tommy) and their children Eli Garvin and Travis Ainsworth; special friends, Shana Keeton and Hayden; a host of cousins and extended family members.

Mr. Powe is preceded in death by his parents, George and Jean Powe; Grandparents, Thad and Mona Mae Oden; his in-laws, Rev. Hubert and Sheila Hillsman.

Pallbearers will be Austin Shirey, Primus Williams, Hayden Keeton, Randy Benson, Kevin Chatham, and Jacob Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Lauderdale Volunteer Fire Department.
