George Arnold Quam

Memorial services for Mr. George Quam will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Null officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton.  Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. George Quam, age 82, of Meridian, Mississippi passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

George was born in Roanoke, Virginia on October 27, 1937 and was raised in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.  He served in the United States Air Force and later retired from the United States Navy after twenty-two years of service.  After his retirement, he worked for Zapata Oil Company as an off-shore electrician for over a decade and later worked at NAS Meridian as a civilian airplane electrician.  Mr. Quam was a private person who enjoyed tinkering around the house, had a wonderful sense of humor, and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his prize puppy, Bella.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that will be deeply missed by those he has left behind to cherish his memory.

George is survived by his wife of forty years, Martha Ann Quam; his children, April Massimino (Joey), Aaron Roach (Amy), Jenny Brown (Charles), Jim Thead (Tina), and Shelia Arias (David); ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian Quam; five siblings; and one granddaughter.

Facial mask are required prior to admittance into the funeral home. The funeral home is operating at 50% capacity and will allow up to 100 guests indoors at once.
