George Ramia Services for George Ramia will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 2:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Curtis Lucy and Doug Dewesse officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. George Ramia, 86, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ramia was born November 28, 1923, in Meridian. He was the former owner of the Terminal Café, Hotel and Package Store on Front Street. Mr. Ramia was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Mr. Ramia was a World War II veteran. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and spending time with family at his camp on the Warrior River in Demopolis. Mr. Ramia is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mynard Taylor Ramia, two sisters, Annie Marie Hodge and her husband Gene of Leeds, AL, and Roselie Perryman and her husband Tom of Houston, TX; one brother, William Ramia and his wife Gay of Collierville, TN; brother in law, Jack Taylor and his wife Irma of Soso,MS; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, George Ramia, Jr.; his parents, Inez and Joseph Ramia; and two brothers, Louis and John Ramia. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Rex Hiatt, Joe Hiatt, Jimmy Ramia, Joe Ramia; great nephews Anthony Hiatt, Joey Hiatt, John Hiatt and Steve Atchinson.
