George "Tommy" Thomas Edwards

Graveside services for Mr. George Thomas "Tommy" Edwards will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, September 09, 2024, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Gary Morris and Rev. Joey Shelton officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Tommy Edwards, age 79, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Baptist Anderson's Medical Center. Tommy was a hardworking, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to be around his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. They had always had a very special place in his heart from the beginning and were the light of his life. Tommy was a kind soul to be around. If you knew Tommy, you knew he loved taking care of others and being there for his family. Tommy was a very avid outdoorsman. He held the world record for the largest Channel Catfish, caught in the Tom Bailey Lake in Toomsuba, Mississippi. He enjoyed using his hands and had a special skill in woodworking and the kitchen. Tommy was loved by so many and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Jean Edwards; son, David Edwards (Teri); two grandchildren, John Philip Edwards and Riley Morgan Edwards (Zach Walker); five siblings, special brother-in-law, Stanley Gressett, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Tommy is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Duane Edwards; parents, George and Edna Edwards, one sister, and one brother.

Pallbearers will be Rodger Harper, Stanley W. Gressett, Chris Germany, Tyler Germany, Kayden Davis, and Justin McCoy.
