George V. "G.V." Wilson

Private graveside services for Mr. George V. “G.V.” Wilson will be held at Gum Log Cemetery, Sunday, June 30, 2019 with Bro. Dennis Robinson officiating. Interment will follow. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Wilson, 91, of the Obadiah community passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Regency Hospital of Meridian.

Mr. G.V. retired as a brick mason for over 50 years; he was famed as one of the best of his kind. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the Pacific during the testing of the first atomic bombs.

Mr. George is survived by son. Kenneth Wilson; grandson, Jefferson Shane Wilson; and one sister in law, Caroline Wilson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dora Wedgeworth Wilson; brothers, James Wilfred Wilson, Kenneth Wilson; sister, Georgia Wilson Snowden.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Withers, Will Withers, Greg Stevens, and Tyler Stevens.
