Private Graveside Services for Mr. George W. Walker, Jr. will be Friday, May 1, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Doug Goodman officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Walker ,71, of Meridian passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at his home.

George was born in Meridian, MS and attended Clarkdale Attendance center, grades 1-12. He received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Mississippi State University. George worked for many years with Burger Chef and Mr. Cook restaurants, as well as United Plywood and Clearspan Components. He retired as the manager of technical services at Clearspan Components in 2009. He enjoyed a variety of interest ranging from building houses to restoring classic cars and sharing his knowledge and skills with many friends.

Mr. George is survived by his wife of more than 53 years, Linda Wiggins Walker; his daughter, Angela Walker Boyd (Greg) of Tylertown, MS; his son, George Walker III (Leigh Ann) of Coppell, TX; and three beloved grandsons, Aaron and Andrew Boyd of Tylertown, MS and Caleb Walker of Coppell, TX. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other family members as well as dear friends.

He is preceded by his parents, George and Helen Walker, and his only sibling, Stephen D. Walker.

The family requests memorials be made as donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
