Gerald Levone "Blackie" Blackwell Services for Mr. Blackwell will be held Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Earl Wheatley officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Blackwell, 80, of Meridian, died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Regency Hospital. He was a retired Meat Cutter and was a Veteran of the Korean conflict where he served in the U.S. Marines. He was also an avid fisherman and loved being with his family. Survivors include , wife, Geraldine Hicks Blackwell of Meridian, Daughter, Sharon Hemrick and husband Mike of Meridian, Daughter, Judy Hoffer and husband Dale of Causeyville, Son, Keith Blackwell and wife Judy of Meridian, Son, Kenny Blackwell of Meridian, Son, David Blackwell and wife Linda of Meridian, Grandchildren, Stephanie Cook, Ginger Hall, Michelle Blackwell, Jessica Blackwell, Pamela Hemrick, Michael Hemrick, Stacey Thomas, Danielle Bankston, Tyler Blackwell, Taylor Blackwell, 12 Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Levone Blackwell, parents, J.C and Kate Blackwell, Brother, Howard Blackwell, Brother, Charles Blackwell, Sister Earline Lee, sister, Genice Garrett, sister, Mary Fisher, and a Great-Grandson, Dalton Jace Bryant. Pallbearers will be Ricky Blackwell, Corey Blackwell, Steve Blackwell, Michael Hemrick, Tyler Blackwell, and Stephen Blackwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Massey, Steve Smith, Bill Gordon, Raymond Grogan, Phil Lee, William Fisher, and John Milstead.
