Murray Glenn Gaubert, 81, of Meridian, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in his home surrounded by his family. Born on July 25, 1944, in Meridian, Glenn lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family, friends, and community.
Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Following his naval service, he continued his commitment to duty as a member of the Air National Guard. His deep patriotism and sense of responsibility were hallmarks of his character and remained central throughout his life.
After his military service, Glenn embarked on a remarkable 38-year career with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. His dedication and professionalism earned him membership in the prestigious Million Mile Club upon his retirement, as a testament to his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Faith was a guiding force in Glenn’s life. He maintained a strong personal relationship with God and sought divine guidance in all aspects of his life. As a Christian leader within his home and community, he exemplified kindness, integrity, and compassion.
Glenn's love for sports began early in life as a high school athlete excelling in football and pole vaulting. He continued his athletic pursuits into community college before channeling his passion into coaching youth sports. As a little league football and baseball coach, he mentored young athletes, instilling not only skills but also values of teamwork and perseverance.
In later years, Glenn found joy in playing snooker daily with friends at the local community center. The camaraderie and competition brought him great happiness. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion. Known for his infectious laughter and storytelling, Glenn cherished time spent sharing memories with loved ones. Whether engaged in hours-long conversations or simply enjoying the company of others, he had an extraordinary ability to make those around him feel loved and appreciated.
Glenn was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marcia Moore Gaubert; his daughter Gina Gaubert Marshall and her husband Perry; and his stepson Chris Courtney and his wife Marla. He also leaves behind multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even a great-great-grandchild.
He is predeceased by his parents Eddie Lee Gaubert and Murray Bernard Gaubert; daughters Jenny Lynn Gaubert and Sandra Gaubert Pilgrim; stepson Rick Courtney; grandson Channing Phillipson; and a cousin who was like a brother to him, James Posey. Glenn also shared close bonds with three first cousins who were like sisters: Wanda Posey Sullivan (and her husband Warren), Lynda Posey Song, and Phyllis Posey.
Glenn's life was defined by a unique blend of strength and sensitivity. He stood firmly for what was right, always ready to defend those who were mistreated or in need. At the same time, he was gentle-hearted—a “girl daddy” who cherished the special bond he shared with his daughters. His fun-loving spirit brought joy to all who knew him.
Glenn's memory will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy of faith, service, laughter, and love will continue to inspire generations to come. May those who mourn find comfort in the cherished memories they hold dear.
