Gloria Lee Milton Straus Services for Gloria Lee Milton Straus will be held Friday, May 24, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Raymon Leake officiating. Burial will be in Cemetery Beth Israel with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Straus died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Regency Hospital. She served as a board member with the Meridian Symphony Orchestra, The Girl Scouts, The Meridian Little Theatre and provided public relations for The Meridian Museum of Art for ten years. Mrs. Straus was a member of the Phi Beta Pi Sorority at Southern Methodist University. She is survived by her son Lee Straus of Los Angeles, California, David Straus and his wife Susan of Hattiesburg, and Mark Straus of Ridgeland, her sister Betty Lynn Johnson of Hattiesburg, three grandchildren Stacey Straus Metz of Hattiesburg, Jamie Straus of Lafayette, Louisiana and Amy Straus of Ridgeland, three great-grandchildren, Zachary Straus, Mallory Straus and Aslyn Stivey, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Marks Rothenberg Straus, her parents Newel Lee Milton and Lynn Simmons Milton and a sister DeVota Milton. The family requests that in lieu of followers that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association.
