Guy O. Thornton Graveside service for Guy O. Thornton will be held Monday, August 30, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Bethel Southern Methodist Church in Kemper County, with the Reverends Steven Lockley and Jack Giles officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Thornton, age 70, of Bailey, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at Riley Hospital. He was retired from Atlas Roofing. He loved jokes, and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Thornton, of Bailey, a son, Jimmy Thornton, of Bailey, a daughter in-law, Angie Thornton, two daughters, Lisa Phillips and her husband Tim, of Sawyerville, Alabama, Lois McDonald, of Bailey, three sisters, Audrey Harper, of Vimville, Olene Torrance, of Vimville, and Belle Adcock, of Bailey, two brothers, Doyle Thornton of Vimville, and James "Boy" Thornton of Bailey, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two step grandchildren. He was also survived by his stepchildren, Jesse Green and his wife Anissa, Michael Green and fiance Amanda, Kyle Green and wife Tamica. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Thornton, his second wife, Jean Thornton, his mother, Ola Mae Thornton, and his father, Charlie Thornton.
