Harvey Smith

Visitation for Mr. Harvey Smith will begin at 11:00 a.m. lasting until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. There will be a private graveside service at a later time. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Smith, 71, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Smith was a founding member and valued associate of Till-Newell Animal Hospital from 1959 to 2018.  He devoted his life to his work not only to the many animals and people he touched but to the many young people and veterinarians he mentored.  His legacy will live on forever.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janis Blackwell Smith; his daughters, Angie Boston (Jared), Dr. Diane Donaldson (Tim); his granddaughter, Allie Shirley; and numerous siblings.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Smith; his parents, Walter and Lois Smith and his in-laws, Reuben and Louise Blackwell; and a brother, Dr. Allen R. Till and Dr. Till's mother, Louise R. Till.
