Hassel Lamar Smith Services for Hassel Lamar Smith will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at 2:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Danny Davis officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith, 90 of Braxton, MS, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Simpson County Hospital. Mr. Smith, formerly of Meridian, retired from the U.S. Air Force and worked 20 years for Rush Hospital. Survivors include his son, Thomas Smith of Decatur; grandchildren, Tiffany Smith and Thomas Smith, Jr., both of Meridian; sisters, Annie Shaw of Taylorsville, MS, Effie Mitchell of McClain, MS,; brother, Ralph Smith of Pensacola, FL; special niece, Shirley Vinzant of Braxton, MS; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Smith; parents, Lamar and Eula Smith; sisters, Dorothy Vinzant, Edna Franklin; brothers, Edward Smith and Bobby Smith.
