Helen Joyce Chandler Memorial service for Helen Joyce Chandler will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Temple officiating. Ms. Chandler, 52, of Meridian passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. Ms. Chandler was a lifelong resident of Meridian and was employed with Diagnostic Tissue/Cytology Group for Dr. Brian Wilkinson for over thirty years. She also worked as a waitress at New's Restaurant. Joyce loved her daughters and enjoyed spending time at the beach. Survivors include her husband, William H. "Rusty" Powell of Meridian; daughter, Lizzie Chandler of Meridian; step-daughter, Raley N. Powell Dearman and husband, Rob of Enterprise; granddaughter, Ella Grace Dearman; sister, Kay Canterbury of Meridian; brother, John T. Beard, Jr. of Lauderdale; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lauren Nicole Chandler; step-son, Christopher Haydn Powell; parents, Helen Matthews Beard and John T. Beard, Sr. and brothers, Perry Beard, Hugh Beard and Greg Matthews. The family request memorials be made to the Anderson Cancer Benevolent Fund.
