Helen Ethridge

Funeral Services for Mrs. Helen Ethridge will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. T.J. Jennings and Bro Damon Williams officiating. Interment will be held at Pine Grove Church in Martin following the funeral service with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Helen, age 96, of the Martin Community, passed away at James T. Champion Nursing Facility of Meridian, Wednesday, October 25, 2017.

She was the owner of Ethridge Grocery for 30 plus years. She taught Sunday School at Pine Forest Baptist Church as well as Pine Grove Church in the Martin Community for many years. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially loved tending her garden.

Mrs. Ethridge is survived by her son, Jim Ethridge (Lynn), and daughter, Patricia Covington. Grandchildren, Dawn Wood (Wade), Dane Ethridge (Amy), Stacie Deshazer (Andy), Mitch Covington (LeAnn), Amanda Ardoin (Allen), and Angela Barnes. Great-grandchildren, Tyler Wood (Brittanie), Amber Goodman (Daniel), Smokey Ethridge, Colby Ethridge, Anthony Deshazer, Heather Deshazer, Davis Covington, Carson Covington, Achilles Ardoin, Annabel Ardoin, Darien Fletcher, and Colette Barnes; One great-great-granddaughter, Harvest Wood.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 plus years, James “Smokey” Ethridge. Son-in-law, Howard Covington, and daughter-in-law, Becky Ethridge. Brothers, Herman Davis, Fred Davis, Jimmy Davis, Doc Davis, and Jessie James Davis; Sisters, Frankie Wilson and Doris Jean Davis.

Pallbearers will be Smokey Ethridge, Colby Ethridge, Dane Etheridge, Tyler Wood, Mitch Covington, Mickey Davis, Jimbo Davis, and Danny Davis.

The family request memorial donations be made to Pine Forest Baptist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.

Mrs. Family would like to express special thanks to Nurse Practitioner Blount and the nursing staff at James T. Champion Nursing Facility.
