Helen Marie Thomas Services for Helen Marie Thomas will be held Friday, August 17, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend James "Buddy" Pettey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Thomas, 84, of Meridian died Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired after working over twenty years at Anderson Hospital. Survivors include her daughter Cynthia Faye Thomas of Meridian; son Jimmy Carroll Thomas and wife Brenda of Meridian; grandchildren Jimmy Thomas, Jr. and wife Teresa, April Munro Kinney and Sam Simmons and wife Casey; four great-grandchildren Jonah R. Kinney, Wyatt Simmons, Chloe Kinney and Harper Simmons; two sisters Margaret Sue Cox and Barbara Lou McDonald; a special niece Cathy Sullivan and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the father of her children Preston Thomas, Jr.; parents Marshall Fred and Willa B. Thomas; daughter Phyllis Thomas Munro Simmons; brothers Aubrey Thomas and Marshall Fred Thomas, Jr.; and sisters Mildred Quinley, Ruby Thomas, Alpha Jean Thomas and Verdaughn Thomas.
