Funeral services for Earl Smith will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 12:00 p.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Brother Danny Lanier officiating. Burial will follow at Mississippi Veterans Cemetery, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Smith, 71, of Meridian, went to live with Jesus on Friday, August 7. Earl was a retired Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and was a member of Northcrest Baptist Church in Meridian, Mississippi. He enjoyed painting, fishing, and traveling with his Sunday school class. He loved spending time with his family and was a role model for many. He is survived by the love of his life of nearly fifty years, his wife, Syble; his son, James Smith and his wife, Tina. He is also survived by sons of his choosing, Jeff (Brenda) Smith, Scott (Charlotte) Smith, and Kerry (Cabrina) Smith; grandchildren, Carson and Jordyn Smith and seven grandchildren by choice, Kristy (Jordan) Stevens, Holly (Ryan) Gaines, Summer (Aaron) Wooldridge, Kaleb Smith, Sean Smith, Kirsten Smith, and Tanner Smith; four great-grandchildren, Jossilyn Stevens, Aiden Wooldridge, Mila Wooldridge, and Declan Wooldridge; three brothers, Ken (Joyce) Smith, Derrell (Elizabeth) Smith, and Tim Smith; and sister, Barbara (Billy) Welzbacher. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Gradie Smith; father, Beck Smith and mother, Ruth Tucker May; and brothers, Jerry Smith and Jerry May. Pallbearers will be James Thorne, Jimmy Johnson, John Cook, Jerry Marlow, Jim Harris, Wayne Raley, Leon Holyfield, and Mack Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Stevens, Ryan Gaines, Kaleb Smith, Sean Smith, and Tanner Smith. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
